Pete Poe retiring as Drury Lodge general manager

Pete Poe, general manager of the Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau, will leave the company after 28 years with Drury Inns as manager of the Drury Lodge, Cedar Street Restaurant and Pear Tree by Drury.

Poe, who also serves on the boards of the American Red Cross, the SEMO District Fair and the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation, will leave his position Dec. 31.

Sara Heuer has been named as the new general manager of Drury Lodge and will be working with Poe the remainder of this month before assuming her new duties.

Poe's retirement was announced Friday from Drury Hotels Inc., which has headquarters in St. Louis. Poe was unavailable for comment Friday.

Heuer was hired by Poe in 1990 as guest service agent and has worked up through the ranks. Most recently, Heuer has served as general manager of the Drury Suites and Hampton Inn hotels in Cape Girardeau.
