Mike Smythe, who has been serving as general sales manager at KFVS12 Television, has been named the new vice president and general manager of the Cape Girardeau station, replacing Howard Meagle, who was recently promoted to WMC-TV, the Raycom Media Inc. station at Memphis, Tenn.

Smythe, previously hosted Heartland Business Break, an on-air breakfast show segment, featuring regional businesses and public service agencies.

As general sales manger, he published and won an Addy Award for his Pros & Cons of Media campaign.

Smyth's new position was announced by Jeff Rosser, group vice president for Raycom, parent company of KFVS.

Smythe previously worked at TV stations Dayton, Ohio, and Toledo, Ohio, and for the Television Bureau of Advertising in Chicago.
