Erik Sean has been named director of sports operations for the Zimmer Radio Group.
Sean, who has been with Zimmer Radio since 1997, will succeed Mike Legg, who has accepted a new position at Western Kentucky University. Sean will serve as radio voice of the Southeast Missouri State University football, men basketball and baseball, in addition to overseeing all sports programming.
Sean has served as sport director for Newsradio 960 KZIM and ESPN Radio 1220 KGIR in Cape Girardeau. He is entering his second season as the play-by-play voice of SEMO football, and will call baseball games for a third straight season. He also worked as a color analyst for SEMO basketball game last year.
Sean was named play-by-play announcer of the year by the Illinois Radio Network, while working at Herrin, Ill., in 1997. He has been honored as play-by-play announcer of the year by the Missouri Broadcaster Association the past four years. He has also received sportscasting awards from the MBA.
