Fred Higdon has joined Wood & Huston Bank as vice president for commercial loans.
Higdon, who has 25 years in the banking industry, will be responsible for commercial loans and business development. Barry Randolph, president of Wood & Huston Bank, announced Higdon's appointment recently.
Higdon, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, previously worked at the former Boatmen's Bank and Mercantile/Firstar Bank.
He is a member of the Cape Girardeau and Jackson Chambers of Commerce, Southeast Hospital Foundation, president of the SEMO District Fair Board and SEMO District Fair Foundation, Area Wide United fund-raising committee; and Friends of Scouting with the Greater St. Louis Area Boy Scouts of America.
He was the recipient of the 1990 Southeast Missouri State University Department of Agriculture's Distinguished Alumni Award.
