Dr. Christopher Compton of Jackson has joined Heartland Family Physicians Clinic and Prompt Care, 2130 Highway 61 East, in Jackson.
Compton, a graduate of the University of Missouri Medical School, served a family practice internship and residency at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Compton served as an urgent-care physician at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis from 1999 to 2001. He will start his new position Aug. 6.
He also worked as a research assistant in the biochemistry lab at the University of Missouri-Columbia, from 1991 to 1994.
Compton is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians, St. Louis Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association land the Southern Medical Association.
Heartland Clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Prompt Care is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
