Thom Miller has been appointed manager of Professional & Therapeutic Massage Services, 505 Mount Auburn Road.

Miller has received training from Dr. Bayer's School of Massage Therapy in St. Louis. Miller, an AFAA certified aerobics instructor with nine years experience, will also retain his position of aerobics director at Universal Physique Fitness and Racquet Center, owner of the therapeutic massage service.

Thomas M. Meyer, of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co., is president-elect of the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR).

Meyer and his wife attended the MAR annual meeting and convention, held at Lake of the Ozarks recently.

Meyer, who will assume the presidency in October of 1994, will be only the second Southeast Missourian to be president of the MAR. His father, Thomas L. Meyer, was president in 1968.

As president-elect, Meyer will represent the more than 18,000 realtors in Missouri at national realtors meetings throughout the U.S. He has been active on national committees and has been associated with the family firm of Thomas L. Meyer since 1970.

Hans Peter Stihl, CEO of Stihl German, the world's largest manufacturer of chain saws, will visit Crader Distributing in Marble Hill Oct. 9.

Stihl, who holds the elected position of chairman of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, will tour Crader's facilities and address its employees, recognizing the firm as Stihl's "Distributor of the Year" for 1992.

Crader, a wholesale distributor of Stihl chain saws and power tools in four states, was named Stihl's number one distributor for the U.S.

Stihl is the son of Andreas Stihl, whom record books credit with inventing the one-man portable chain saw in Germany in 1926. Stihl has factories throughout the world, including the U.S. Most Stihl saws sold in the U.S. are U.S.-produced.

Bob Foulke has been named manager at Orscheln Farm & Home Supply, Inc., 338 S. Christine in Cape Girardeau.

Foulke comes to Cape Girardeau from Shelbina, where he was store manager.

Foulke, a native of West Plains, has been with Orscheln since June of 1992. He previously worked with Bayless Shoe Co.

Steve Wall has joined Varsity Barber Shop, 1125 Broadway.

Wall, a barber and stylist, will work Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sarah Holt, administrator at Cape Girardeau Surgical Clinic, 10 Doctors' Park, and Cape Girardeau Doctors' Park recently earned advancement to Fellow status in the American College of Medical Group Administrators (ACMGA).

Formal recognition of the achievement will be given at the Medical Group Management Association's 67th annual conference, to be held this month in Seattle.

Holt had to complete 120 continuing education credit hours and pass oral, essay and objective examinations to receive Fellow status. Holt has been associated with Cape Girardeau Surgical Clinic for five years.

Kenneth E. Volkerding of Jackson has earned two awards from the National Association of Life Underwriters.

Volkerding, a district representative of Lutheran Brotherhood's Harlan Pals Agency, St. Charles, was honored for achieving production standards of 100 paid policies in a 13-month period and for writing a minimum of 25 policies, which achieve 90 percent persistency for a minimum of 13 months.

Kenny and Mary Crafton of Cape Girardeau are winners of the "Sell-A-Friend" weekend, held at Buyers Choice Auto Sales recently.

The prize was the "payoff" of their vehicle, a value of $1,727.25 for the Craftons.

Kelley Callow of Cape Girardeau has been hired by Redken Co. as a performing artist.

Callow, a stylist at Special Effects, 121 S. Broadview, for more than six months, will work with Redken at various shows and seminars.

Callow, who attended beauty school at Stage One The Hair School in Cape Girardeau, will remain as a stylist with Special Effects.

Nancy S.Trexler, a staff member at Cross Point Animal Hospital, 605 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau, has been awarded the title of Veterinary Nutritional Consultant.

To receive the designation, Trexler successfully completed an in-depth continuing education program on canine and feline nutrition. She had to demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of nutrition-related health conditions, client counseling and risk factor management of pets.

A new patent has been issued to Paul Ebaugh Sr. and Dr. Ed Masters for a safety medical IV infusion set with sheath applicable to commonly used "butterfly" needle sets.

Ebaugh and Masters have licensed U.S. Patent Number 4,941,881 to Medipoint Inc. of Mineola, N.Y.

Following clinical trials at Cornell University, Medipoint Inc. plans to put the invention on the market next year.

This is the fifth U.S. patent for Masters and Ebaugh.
