Christopher "Kit" Bond, have been accepted for participation in Leadership Missouri, a seven-month leadership enhancement program for business and civic leaders...

Robert C. Briner, director of the SEMO Regional Crime Lab at Southeast Missouri State University, and Thomas W. Schulte, Cape Girardeau office director for U.S. Sen. Christopher "Kit" Bond, have been accepted for participation in Leadership Missouri, a seven-month leadership enhancement program for business and civic leaders.

Leadership Missouri, sponsored by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce in Jefferson City, is designed to help leaders better understand the operations of Missouri government, as well as the concerns and goals of the state's elected and appointed officials.

Program sessions are held each month for seven consecutive months, starting this month and ending in October. Each session is held in a different Missouri city and focuses on a specific topic.

Janet Esicar of Cape Girardeau has joined Boatmen's Bank as assistant vice president and real estate loan officer at the bank's 2001 William Street site.

Esicar has 20 years banking experience. She worked with First Federal Savings and Loan in both lending and operations for 17 years. Esicar, a graduate of Cape Central High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University.

A special adviser award has been named in honor of Avis Meyer, faculty adviser for The University News at St. Louis University.

The award was presented in recognition of Meyer's dedication in his position since 1975. The Avis Meyer Outstanding Adviser Award will be presented at the seventh annual Leadership and Volunteer Banquet this spring.

Meyer, who taught at Southeast Missouri State University during the early 1970s, is the son of Robert E. Meyer of Dexter and the late Mary Meyer.

He is a graduate of Sikeston High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He also has a doctorate from St. Louis University.

Donna Farrow has joined Meyer Supply, 620 Good Hope in Cape Girardeau, as showroom manager.

Meyer Supply handles plumbing and hardware supplies. Farrow, of Oriole, has been in sales more than 13 years.

Stephen Bodine of St. Louis has been named "Buyer of the Year" for 1993 by Dillard's Department Stores Midwest Division.

Bodine, formerly of Cape Girardeau and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, has been a buyer for Dillard Stores since 1987. He oversees 27 stores in five midwestern states -- Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.

Norman J. Heuring of Cape GMC Pontiac, 755 S. Kingshighway, has been named to the Pontiac Master Sales Guild for 1993.

The guild honors Pontiac salesmen and sales managers for outstanding performance in the areas of sales, product knowledge and customer satisfaction.

Heuring, of New Hamburg, joined Cape GMC Pontiac in 1987 as a sales representative.

Janice C. Forsyth has been named senior vice president and general counsel at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri (BCBSMo).

As general counsel, Forsyth is the corporation's top legal officer, providing legal analysis and advice to senior management.

Forsyth, who received her law degree from the St. Louis University School of Law and a master's degree in health administration, joined the organization in 1982 as associate general counsel.

George P. Bray, senior vice president of sales and marketing for D&K Wholesale Drug Inc., will assume the position of divisional president of the company's Cairo, Ill. Distribution Center, under a restructuring of the company's senior management team.

J. Hord Armstrong III, chairman and chief executive officer of D&K, announced the restructuring.

Stephen A. Ford, vice president of operations, will assume the position of divisional president at the company's Lexington, Ky., Distribution Center.

Ford and Bray will have responsibility for operations, customer service and marketing in their respective divisions.

"The reorganization will be beneficial due to the complexities of our two-distribution-center structure," said Armstrong. "We feel the changes are an important component in better positioning D&K for the future."

D&K was founded at Cairo and is now headquartered at St. Louis. The firm is a full-service regional wholesale drug distributor of pharmaceutical, health and beauty products in 14 states.
