Greg Wilson has just become the Vice President of Commercial Lending at Capital Bank. Wilson has six years experience in commercial, consumer and real estate lending. He attended Murray State University and is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking of the South in Baton Rouge, La.
Capital Bank is an affiliate of Capital Bancorporation, a holding company headquartered in Cape Girardeau. Capital Bancorporation operates 35 locations through seven affiliate banks.
Spartech Plastics, a division of Spartech Corporation, announced three management changes effective Aug. 15.
Jay D. Chezem was promoted to controller for Spartech's Plastics in Cape Girardeau. Greg S. Nagel was promoted to general manager of Spartech Plastics in Atlanta, Ga. Donald H. Hudson will become the division's Distributor Sales and International Development manager in Arlington, Texas.
Spartech operates 14 facilities nationwide which develop and converts resins into semifinished products for thermoplastics manufacturers.
Richard Eggimann has joined the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel as an associate.
Eggimann is a councilman for the city's Sixth Ward. He was an educator for 34 years and later served as a member of the Kirby Smith Organization.
The Lorberg firm, established in 1910, will move at the end of the month to 829 N. West End Blvd.
Wilma Dooley recently attended the annual Mary Kay Cosmetics seminar in Dallas. She was recognized for leading her unit in outstanding sales for the last year. The unit earned more than $300,000 in sales.
Debbie Balsam of Perryville was also recognized for more than $32,000 in sales. Other unit members who attended the seminar are: Kelly Hartmann and Sheila Hahs, Rosetta Spane, Cathy Barns, Linda Miller, Tammy Richardet, Norma Parker, Bridget Bryant, Debra Utterback and Shirley Lee.
Mary Kay Cosmetics is an international company headquartered in Dallas. For the second consecutive year, the company was named as the country's best-selling facial skin care and cosmetics brand.
Boatmen's Banks announced two employee promotions last week.
Jim Ham and Denise Pittman were promoted to assistant vice presidents.
Ham, who joined the bank in 1991, will become assistant vice president of credit administration. He had been a vice president of retail banking for First Federal in Cape Girardeau.
Pittman has been employed by Boatmen's Bank for nine years. She began her career as a teller and has since been promoted to operations officer and facility manager. She will serve as assistant vice president and manager of loan services.
Mark Talley retired as president of First State Bank in Mounds, Ill., and Bob O'Daniel has been named bank president. O'Daniel has been employed with First State Bank for 11 years.
Sandy Grebing-Lyles, the lead flight nurse for Air Evac EMS Inc. at the St. Francis Medical Center will receive the Missouri "Flight Nurse of the Year" award.
She received the award at the Combined Clinical Conference on Emergency Care earlier this month.
She has been an employee of the Air Evac air ambulance service since 1991. She was selected for her accomplishments in job performance, safety and education to the air medical industry.
Tom Harmon, president of Homebuyers Inspections Inc., will attend classes this week (Aug. 13-21) at the American Home Inspectors Training Institute in Milwaukee.
The classes are required for certification by the American Society of Home Inspectors Inc. (ASHI). At least 40 hours of continued education is required each year.
ASHI is the oldest professional organization of home inspectors in America.
Ken Myles of the Ken Myles Insurance Agency in Cape Girardeau recently attended a convention in Osage Beach.
The Missouri Association of Insurance Agents annual convention was held at Tan-Tar-A resort. About 800 people attended the event.
About 670 insurance agencies from across the state are members of the association.
Jennifer Elfrink of Elite Travel in Cape Girardeau recently returned from a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. During the trip, she made site inspections of Disney's hotel properties. Elfrink specializes in corporate and leisure travel.
The Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants' Southeast Chapter installed its 1995-96 officers.
The officers include Robert B. Mothershead of Benton, president; Mark D. Eads of Poplar Bluff, president-elect; Philip J. Black of Sikeston, vice president; Gary G. Johnson of Cape Girardeau; and Lonnie G. Hasty of Sikeston.
Each officer will serve a one-year term for the 223-member chapter. MSCPA is a professional association of CPAs with more than 7,500 members.
James D. Weatherly of Cape Girardeau recently received a life membership to the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
CPAs who have been members of the society for more than 20 years and who have retired are eligible for the life memberships by request.
The Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative elected its board of directors at its recent annual meeting.
