Southeast Missouri State University President Dr. Kala M. Stroup has been selected to serve on the advisory board of the St. Louis World Trade Center.

The trade center opened at St. Louis in February 1993 and is one of more than 280 centers in 81 countries. In January, the Small Business Development Center at Southeast Missouri State University became a satellite office of the World Trade Center of St. Louis.

Stroup was appointed for a two-year term. The board, which meets quarterly, gives guidance and direction in the operations of the trade center. Board members are selected by the St. Louis County Economic Council.

Christine Simmons, Yvonne Wills, Kathy Bellinger and Cheryl Noel, all of the Cape Girardeau area, have joined Wanda's Coiffures, 1405 Thomas St., in Cape Girardeau.

Simmons, Noel and Wills each have more than 20 years experience in the beauty industry. Noel has 10 years experience. All were previously employed at Shear Class Hair Design Group.

Wanda's Coiffures, owned by Wanda Anderson, opened in 1968.

More than 20 employees of the Lutheran Home, including administrator Janice Unger, were recently honored during an employee appreciation ceremony in conjunction with Homes for the Aging Week.

Employees were honored for 15 and 20 years service.

Honorees were Barbara Atchley, Patricia Baldwin, Julia Davis, Brenda Farrow, Cathy Grebing, Cynthia Grebing, Marion Grebing, Darlene Haines, Betty Hency, Kaye Lee, Judith Leible, Beverly Price, Joyce Proffer, Louella Purcell, Louise St. John, Mary Warner, Melba Allen, Bernetta Davis, Erna Phillips, Carolyn Ryan, Sharon Welker, Martha Kinder and Helen Laurentius.

Donna Riley has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing at American Athletic Apparel, 240 E. Owen, Puxico.

Company president, Sal Akbani, recently announced Riley's appointment.

Mark Anderson and Janel Haugarth have been appointed to vice president positions with the newly created Supervalu Inc. Midwest Region that includes four divisions -- Scott City and St. Louis; Great Lakes at Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and JM Jones Division at Champaign, Ill.

Anderson, who joined Supervalu in 1981, was most recently director of merchandising in the Great Lakes Division. He has been named vice president category management in the new region.

Haugarth, who has been with Supervalu since 1977, previously served as controller in the Great Lakes Division, She is vice president of finance for the new division.

Supervalu operates 25 wholesale food divisions and owns nearly 300 retail stores.
