Leslie J. Rodgers of Jackson has joined Tip of Illinois Health Services Inc. as a secretary of Tip's branch office in Olive Branch, Ill.
Rodgers, who has more than six years of experience in the medical and secretarial field, was previoulsy a secretary at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Tip, in operation since 1976, provides health services in the home in the lower 26 counties of Southern Illinois. Tip's Olive Branch and Cairo offices serve residents in Alexander and Pulaski counties.
Percy Huston, president and CEO of South East Missouri Bank, 111 S. Broadview in Cape Girardeau, recently attended a conference for board members of the Missouri Bankers Association, held at Lake of the Ozarks. Board members discussed strategic planning.
Jodi Morton and Kim Venable, teller administrators at South East Missouri Bank, attended a workshop on "Powerful Communication Skills for Women."
Dr. Donald Metreion of Chaffee has received a "Masters" recognition for skill in assessment of permanent medical impairments.
Metreion recently completed a course on the American Medical Association guidelines to the evaluation of permanent medical conditions.
Gary Dougherty is the first "Employee of the Quarter" for the U.S. Postal Service Processing and Distribution Center at Cape Girardeau.
Dougherty has been with the postal service since 1986 and has worked at the processing center for more than three years. His primary duty at the center is distribution of outgoing "Priority Mail."
The quarterly employee recognition was recently established, plant manager Mike Heuschober said.
Terry Roth of Cape Girardeau, a sales representative for MoorMan's Inc., recently participated in a two-week training seminar at Clear Lake, Iowa.
Topics discussed during the workshop included livestock management and health, product knowledge and sales and service.
Moorman's, a U.S.-owned livestock feed company, is headquartered at Quincy, Ill.
Dr. Alan M. Weaver of Sturgeon has been awarded the "President's Award," by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
The award recognizes a physician with fewer than 10 years in practice who has provided special services to the osteopathic profession, community and public health .
Weaver is the son of Penny J. Weaver-Keller of Cape Girardeau. He practices medicine in Sturgeon.
Dr. Bill Weber, from the economics department of Southeast Missouri State University, Cathy Raines of Mercantile Bank and 13 economics students recently attended an economics workshop at St. Louis.
The group visited the Mercantile Money Museum, A. G. Edwards & Sons Inc., stockbrokers, and Anheuser-Busch Inc. During the tours, students were provided a history of money and the roles of economists at Edwards and Anheuser-Busch.
The workshop was sponsored by Mercantile Bank, Amerifirst Bank, Boatmen's Bank, Capital BAnk and First national Bank, all of Cape Girardeau.
