WPSD Local 6 in Paducah, Ky., announced the additions of meteorologist Tori Shaw and anchor/reporter Mychaela Bruner to its news team.
Shaw, who joins WPSD as weekend meteorologist, earned her bachelor's degree in broadcast communications from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a master's degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Shaw earned the AMS Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval and returns to the region after working as a weekend meteorologist for WCTI-TV in New Bern, N.C. Bruner is the new anchor of WPSD's weekend morning newscasts and is a member of the reporting staff. Bruner is a recent graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and she anchored and reported for KOMU-TV in Columbia. Mo. She has also worked as a reporter for NEWSY.com and KBIA-FM.
Saxony Lutheran High School recently hired Mark Ruark as interim principal for the 2013-2014 school year. Ruark has 31 years in education, most recently as principal at Jefferson High School in Festus, Mo., where he was awarded the Jefferson County School Counselors' Advocate of the Year. Ruark also served on the Governor's Task Force on Vocational and Technical Education, and was an assistant principal, athletic director, teacher and coach in the Cape Girardeau School District. , teacher and coach in Cape Girardeau public schools.
