Dr. Aaron Andrews, a chiropractic neurologist with Jackson Healing Arts, again has been awarded recognition as one of America's top chiropractors by the Consumers Research Council of America. The selection process was based on postgraduate education, years in practice, affiliations with professional and local social associations, and peer and patient reviews. This is Andrews' fifth time receiving the award.
Andrews also cowrote and published his first book, "What You Don't Know Can Heal You: Revealing Secrets to the Most Overlooked Answer For a Healthier Life."
Ann E. Behrend-Uhls, MD, FACOG, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Cape Care for Women, has been selected to represent Southeast Missouri obstetricians and gynecologists in the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Behrend-Uhls was selected and approved at the Section Advisory Council meeting in June.
As a new officer, Behrend-Uhls will be required to attend national meetings and legislative conferences to continuously innovate and update OB/GYN practices.
Behrend-Uhls received a combined BA-MD degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City through the six-year medical school. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Behrend-Uhls is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, American Medical Society, Missouri State Medical Society and Cape Girardeau Medical Society.
Kali Francis, MD, has joined Southeast Pediatrics. She is the granddaughter of O.D. Niswonger, a longtime administrator of Southeast Hospital.
Francis grew up near Gordonville and attended Jackson High School. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Kelly Brown of Coldwell Banker Professional Associates in Perryville, Missouri, recently completed the Missouri Real Estate Salesperson's examination to receive her salesperson license for Missouri.
Kelly is a sales associate with the company and is undergoing Coldwell Banker training to "equip her with the skills and know how to service the needs of clients and customers," according to a news release from Coldwell Banker.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department announced that the following individuals were promoted as of July 1:
Capt. Jack Wimp and Lt. Mark Majoros were promoted to assistant chief.
Sgts. Rodney Barker, Donald Perry Jr. and Bradley Smith will be promoted to lieutenant.
These officers were promoted to sergeant: Jeffrey Bonham, Darren Estes and Joseph Hann.
These officers were promoted to corporal: Bryan Blanner, Cary Dunavan, Bradley Neels and Brian Vassalli.
