Rosanswank appointed marketing director

Magna-Tel Inc., has appointed Donna Rosanswank to marketing director. Rosanswank is responsible for all aspects of marketing the Magna-Tel line and managing the customer service and sales department.

Rosanswank takes over for Kathy Peters, who had previously been with Magna-Tel since 1983.

A Cape Girardeau-based company for more than 43 years, Magna-Tel is a magnetic promotional products company.

Elder elected to officials' caucus

The Southeast Regional Caucus of the Local Elected Officials met March 27 in New Madrid and elected Jerry Elder of rural Bloomfield, Mo., chairman of the caucus. Elder is vice chairman of the caucus now and will take over as chairman Jan. 1. Elder is presiding commissioner of Stoddard County. He will replace Gerald Jones of the Cape Girardeau County Commission as chairman. Bob Mooney, presiding commissioner of Madison County was elected to serve as vice chairman.

As chairman, Elder becomes the chief local elected official and is authorized and directed to represent the caucus in discharging its responsibilities and prerogatives under the Workforce Investment Act. Elder will make appointments to fill all vacancies on the Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri.

Top performers recognized by Mary Kay

The Jana Jateff Unit with Mary Kay Cosmetics recently recognized top performers for the quarter. Leslie Thresher of East Prairie, Mo., was No. 1 in sales with $6,721 in sales and Amy Romack of Cape Girardeau captured third place. Dawn Musgrave and Amy Cairns, both of Cape Girardeau, came in fourth and sixth, respectively. The women were recognized at an area event in Dexter, Mo.

City employee honored with several awards

Steven R. Cook, environmental services coordinator for the city of Cape Girardeau, has received the Wastewater Collection System of the Year Award from the Missouri Water Environment Association. Cook received the award at the group's 73rd annual meeting in late March. The award is given in recognition of outstanding and significant contributions in the area of waste-water collection.

Cook was also given the 2002 William D. Hatfield Award, an award presented to operators of waste-water treatment plants for outstanding performance and professionalism.

Cook also was inducted into the Golden Manhole Society, a group that has been honored for "promoting professionalism and pride" during the design, management, construction, operations and maintenance of collection systems.

Cook has been in the business for 25 years, starting with the city in 1977 as a waste-water plant laboratory technician.
