BOLD Marketing wins awards

BOLD Marketing of Cape Girardeau won two gold awards and a silver award in the 10th annual Service Industry Advertising Awards. competition. BOLD earned gold awards in the Total PR Campaign category for its self-promotion "We hate bland" campaign and in the Direct mail category for its "IT came from the drain" campaign for Dutch Enterprises. Its interactive twister poster for The Brain & NeuroSpine Clinic of Missouri won silver. The awards recognize advertising excellence. More than 1,400 agencies and institutions submitted entries.

Banterra Bank names new officers

* Jeff May was named president of Banterra Bank. He was promoted from executive vice president. May joined Banterra in 2002 and has helped it expand into Missouri and Indiana. May previously worked as field manager and examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. This is only the second time a new president has been promoted into th position in the company's 38-year history.

* Steven R. Burroughs was named executive vice president. Burroughs was chief credit officer and is responsible for overseeing credit operations, governance and relationships with key regulators. Burroughs also serves on the bank's executive management team. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University as well as the Graduate School of Banking, University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been with the bank since 2004 and has 30 years of experience.

* Everett Knight will continue serving as chairman and chief executive officer. Knight stepped down after 38 years as the bank's founding president.
