Modern Woodmen of America Fraternal Financial announced Bob Houchins of Jackson as the recipient of Rookie of the Month in the Missouri East Region for the month of November. The award is given to a full-time representative who has been with the company for less than three years and is leading the region in production.
Belladona Salon Spa & Boutique, 201 S. Mount Auburn Road, Suite F in Cape Girardeau has added three hair stylists and a salon and spa coordinator to its staff. Sarah Marra, Rana Stewart and LaNita Jaco joined the staff as stylists. Mary Bronaugh is salon and spa coordinator.
Dr. John R. Kinder was among 1,259 people worldwide who became Fellows of the American College of Surgeons during convocation ceremonies at the recent 95th annual Clinical Congress in Chicago. Kinder received a medical doctoral degree in 1996 from University of Tennessee College of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology from University of Iowa in 2000. Since that time he has been a practicing partner in Eye Consultants in Cape Girardeau. In 2002, Kinder attained board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Amy Gilmore, a first-grade teacher at Advance Elementary School in Advance, Mo., recently presented a proposal at the National Association for the Education of Young Children National Conference in Washington, D.C. Gilmore's proposal was about a Young Authors program she teaches her students each year.
