Central grad names to assistant AG post

Laura Sides Reinbold, a 1997 graduate of Central High School, has been named an assistant attorney general for Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon. Reinbold works in the financial services division. She earned her law degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.

Real estate agent returns from trade mission

Thomas M. Meyer, owner of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co., recently returned from a trade mission with Gov. Bob Holden. Meyer met in New York with top Japanese CEOs from Toyota, Panasonic, Sony and Mitsui. The governor and Meyer discussed Missouri's interest in having these top executives visit Southeast Missouri as a possible site for future plant or distribution facilities. Meyer is a certified international real estate practitioner and helps as a site acquisition consultant.

Former SEMO professor to receive alumni award

Dr. Robert Cox, a retired Southeast Missouri State University professor, was one of three alumni of Pittsburg State University in Kansas to be honored by that school during commencement exercises Friday. Cox and the other two alumni received the 2004 Meritorious Achievement awards, recognizing their personal and professional achievements. Cox, who began his career as a high school teacher, taught in schools in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Kentucky. He was employed at Southeast Missouri State University for 27 years before retiring in 1991.
