Zalma day care gets highest accreditation
ZALMA, Mo. — Simmers Daycare in Zalma was awarded Missouri Accreditation, the highest achievement for a child-care provider. Jacqueline Simmers was on hand to accept the award during a recent ceremony.
Regions Bank appoints branch sales manager
Dom Mastropierro has been appointed branch sales manager of the North Kingshighway Regions Bank in Cape Girardeau. He will be responsible for all consumer sales and operations, as well as building and growing relationships with small business customers within the Cape Girardeau community. Mastropierro is a 1997 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in management. He brings more than 10 years of sales and management experience to Regions Bank, including 5 years of consumer and commercial lending. He is active in several community groups including the Cape Girardeau Jaycees and Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. Mastropierro also serves as a loan executive for the United Way of Southeast Missouri.
Businesswoman elected president of state board
Missouri Assisted Living Association has elected Teresa Compton from Cape Girardeau as president of its 2008-2009 board of directors. Compton was elected as president during the association's fall conference held in October in Lake Ozark, Mo. Compton is the administrator of two licensed residential care facilities in Cape Girardeau: Frederick Street Manor I and Maple Crest Manor, which specialize in the treatment and care of more than 60 individuals living with a mental health diagnosis. Compton has worked in the health-care industry for 26 years.
Telephone company adds four staff members
Cape Girardeau-based Big River Telephone has added staff members Cory Seabaugh, Eric Cole, Garrett Lambert and Patty Feiste. A Perryville, Mo., native, Seabaugh joins Big River Telephone as a field technician. Seabaugh has a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology with emphasis in telecommunications and computer networking from Southeast Missouri State University. Seabaugh specializes in porting services and installing equipment for customers. Cole and Lambert joined the company as customer experience representatives. Cole is a native of Farmington, Mo., and has several years of experience in customer service as well as an educational background in electrical technology. Lambert's education background is industrial technology. He is a native of Sikeston, Mo. Both Cole and Lambert provide support and services to Big River Telephone customers. Feiste is a native of St. Louis and is the project manager for Big River Telephone's wholesale digital voice services. Feiste has more than 24 years of experience in the telephone and data communications industry. As project manager, Feiste will be assisting cable companies with the market rollouts on Big River's VoIP Network.
Holcim Ste. Genevieve plant adds staff
Holcim (US) Inc. has hired 39 new people to join its cement plant operations in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo. Positions include cement technicians, power and control technicians and warehouse technicians. They join more than 100 individuals who were hired earlier this year. The Holcim Ste. Genevieve plant is about 50 miles south of St. Louis along the Mississippi River. Ten of the new hires are local men. They are Tim Jones, Travis Layton, Randy Boxdorfer, Dante Duvall and Craig Jenkins, all of Perryville, Mo.; Brian Whaley of Sedgewickville, Mo.; Jeff Seyer of Jackson; Garry Moore of Whitewater; Seth Wachter of Altenburg, Mo.; and Doug Foulk of Millersville.
