First Midwest Bank of Dexter has announced that Heather Short has been named assistant vice president and branch manager at First Midwest's Cape Girardeau location at 1820 N. Kingshighway. Short brings almost eight years of banking experience. First Midwest's Cape Girardeau branch is a temporary full-service modular bank that opened Sept. 24 with groundbreaking for a new facility planned for the fall.
Buchheit retail stores announced that Luke Fuemmeler has been promoted to store manager at Buchheit's Jackson store. Fuemmeler joined the Buchheit organization in 2006 at its Herculaneum store and in 2007 transferred to the Jackson store as assistant store manager.
Cape Electrical Supply has announced that Ali Fartaj will assume the responsibility of vice chairman reporting to the Board of Directors effective Oct. 1. In his new responsibility, Fartaj will transfer his current responsibility as chief executive officer to Kyle Thoma, who currently serves as the president of Cape Electric. Both Fartaj and Thoma will continue to serve on the company's board of directors.
Saint Francis Medical Center has named Jim Lawrence as the new director of business development. Lawrence will lead all aspects of business development and relationship building with physicians, consumers and businesses. In addition, Lawrence will continue to direct the Consumer Call Center. Lawrence holds a master of business administration degree with a health-care emphasis from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. Lawrence also earned a bachelor of science in liberal studies, emphasis on biology and management, and an associate's degree in nursing from the University of the State of New York. Lawrence also served in the U.S. Navy, where he was an operations specialist.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans of Perryville, Mo., has announced that Tom Frasher, financial associate, has received a professional designation of being certified in the field of long-term care. The program is independent of the insurance industry and focuses on providing financial service professionals the tools needed to meet the long-term care needs of clients.
J. Aaron Mitchell of Bloomfield, Mo., is now licensed to practice law after having passed the Missouri Bar examination. Mitchell was a former extern with the Division II Courts in Stoddard County with Judge Joe Satterfield administrating his externship. Mitchell is a 2013 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law, and he will maintain a general law practice Bloomfield.
