Carol Robert has been named Targeted Publications sales manager at the Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau. Robert will oversee a staff of eight and all the targeted monthly publications, including Business Today, Homes, Zipsheet and She, plus a variety of other niche publications throughout the year. Robert will continue to be in charge of book projects, such as "Faces & Places" and "Heartland Heroes." Robert has been in sales for more than 10 years and she owned her own sales and marketing company two years before joining the Southeast Missourian. "It's been a real learning experience," Robert said. "I enjoy working on these publications -- they're educational and entertaining. I also working with clients to get their message out there."

Missourian names real estate manager

Glenda Mayberry, who has almost 20 years of sales experience, has been named real estate manager at the Southeast Missourian, where she will oversee Homes magazine and the newspaper's online real estate section. In her new role, Mayberry works with 322 area agents, listing more than 1,500 homes. The real estate Web site is: www.semissourian. com/realestate. Mayberry previously managed the Targeted Department for five years. Also joining the Targeted Department is Sarah Vickery as an account executive. Vickery graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in public relations and marketing. Before joining the Southeast Missourian, Vickery did internship work in St. Louis at the Savvis Center and St. Louis University and at Southeast's sports marketing department. Vickery builds client relationships for new and existing targeted publications, such as She magazine. Phillip Mayabb also joined the Targeted Department as a photographer, taking photos of homes for the real estate Web site and "Homes" magazine.

Area agent earns online certification

Deborah L. Jennings of RE/MAX Achievers has completed the Realtor e-Pro course to become one of the few real estate professionals to earn the certification offered through the National Association of Realtors. The course is specifically designed to provide real estate professionals with the technology tools needed to assist consumers in the purchase or sale of a home. The course is presented entirely online and certifies real estate agents and brokers as Internet professionals.
