Mary Burton-Hitt was named executive director of the Community Counseling Center Foundation effective Aug. 26. Burton-Hitt succeeds Larry Essner, who is retiring after 17 years as the executive director of the foundation. Burton-Hitt was formerly the executive director of the Southeast Missouri chapter of the American Red Cross.
Jeannette Boylin of Elite Travel Inc. and Cruises has completed the Sandals Resorts' Certified Sandals Specialist program. A certified Sandals specialist has successfully completed extensive training in everything Sandals Resorts has to offer. Also, a travel agent who has earned the title of certified travel agent with a CSS designation are required to complete a rigorous education and training program on a yearly basis. Boylin joins a group of travel agents recognized by Sandals and Beaches Resorts as experts of the Caribbean's chain of luxury ultra-all-inclusive resorts.
Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center located on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University recognized Sheila Umfleet as the 2013 Employee of the Year during the annual Employee Relations Day. Umfleet is a case manager who has been with the program 20 years, and she was recognized for her professionalism and as one who goes above and beyond for the children and staff. Umfleet is also a strong advocate for the children and their families and maintains a positive relationship with the families and the community.
