Real estate agent completes leadership training in Arizona

Jan McClanahan of Jackson recently completed the Council of Residential Specialists Chapter leadership training program in Chandler, Ariz. A broker and agent at Coldwell Banker Abernathy Realty in Jackson, McClanahan attended sessions focused on leadership training and legal, budgeting and financial information. McClanahan has 19 years of experience as a real estate agent, including the last two years with her husband, Jim, at Coldwell Banker Abernathy Realty. McClanahan's community involvement includes past president of the Missouri Council of Residential Specialists chapter, Jackson Kiwanis, National Kiwanis and LaCroix United Methodist Church.

Madra Jones, owner of elements Boutique and employee Rachel Cook-Boldrey attended bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals Fall 2009 mineral technique and product seminar in St. Louis. The two women learned comestic artistry tips and more about bare Minerals' fall product launches. Elements Boutique has locations in Cape Girardeau and Sikeston, Mo.

Shrum awarded child care education credential

Kendra Shrum of Jackson was awarded a Child Development Associate credential by the Council for Professional Recognition. The credential is an effort to improve early childhood education and care by evaluating and recognizing skills of people providing child care. During the credential assessment process, each candidate is observed working with young children or families by an early childhood professional.
