Bank of Missouri adds two to board of directors
Two Perry County business leaders were added to the Bank of Missouri Board of Directors, chief executive officer David Crader announced last week. Bonnie Schnurbusch, administrator of Perry County Nursing Home and Independent Health Systems in Perryville, Mo., and Brian Dreyer, owner of Dreyer Electric in Frohna, Mo., join eight others on the board. Schnurbusch brings a strong reputation, extensive experience and involvement on other professional boards, Crader said, while Dreyer's strengths are his business reputation, community involvement and participation on other boards. Bank of Missouri is a locally owned bank with more than $500 million in assets and banks in Perryville, Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Marble Hill, Mo., Columbia, Mo., and Springfield, Mo.
Glenn joins governor's administration
Jeff Glenn, who lost his post as district director for U.S. Sen. Jim Talent's Cape Girardeau office following Talent's election loss last year, has landed a new job with the administration of Gov. Matt Blunt. Glenn was appointed deputy director of the Division of Workers Compensation at the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Glenn was formerly development director for the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
Missey joins realty firm; Fish completes class
Realty Executives of Cape County added one new salesperson and announced that another has received a designation noting advanced training. Steve Missey of Cape Girardeau, who has lived in the area for about 20 years, has been working in real estate since March and brings his new license to the firm. Kathi Fish was awarded the designation of graduate, Realtor Institute, for successfully completing 90 hours of classwork outlined by the National Association of Realtors.

Farmer receives 'Women of Distinction' Award
The Advertising Speciality Institute gave its Women of Distinction Award to Mary Ann Farmer, president and chief executive officer of Magna-Tel, the Cape Girardeau supplier of promotional items ranging from magnetic calendars and car decorations to yard signs and MP3 player covers. The award was presented at the Counselor Awards ceremony hosted by ASI in July in Chicago. The award is given to a woman who shows top skills in leadership, creativity, and overall impact on the promotional products industry. Farmer is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and has been employed with Magna-Tel since 1984.
Three achieve AST degrees at Jackson firm
Wm. Nobbe & Co. in Jackson announced that three employees, Chris Vetter, John Kielhafner and Kevin Sticht have achieved their Advanced Service Technician degrees, which requires completion of 64 hours of class work in core mechanics and 64 hours of class work in product applications to support the service of John Deere products.
Heise, Lowes honored at state bar meeting
Two area lawyers won recognition last week during the Missouri Bar's annual meeting in Springfield. Sarah E. Heise of Cape Girardeau was honored as part of the 14-member Online Legal Research Task Force, which won the President's Award. And long-time fixture on the area legal scene Albert C. Lowes was honored as a "Senior Counselor," a title given to attorneys who have reached age 75 or who have been members of the bar for 50 years.
