Cheryl Mothes has been promoted to regional leader for the 166 region by Edward Jones, the financial services firm. Mothes, based in Cape Girardeau, is now responsible for the company's branch offices in the region. She will serve as a sales leader assisting new representatives and visiting branch offices. Edward Jones is based in St. Louis.
The St. Louis Business Journal has chosen Cape Girardeau native Jack Oliver III for its list of 40 Under 40, young professionals already making their mark on the St. Louis business community. Oliver is chairman of Bryan Cave Strategies, a subsidiary of the Bryan Cave law firm. He was national finance vice chairman for Bush-Cheney in 2004 and was credited by Time magazine as "the man largely responsible for what is being heralded as the most formidable money machine in modern political history." Oliver is the son of Rosemary Oliver of St. Louis. His father, Cape Girardeau lawyer John Oliver Jr., died in 2005.
Dr. Michael Wulfers has been recognized as certified clinical densitometrist by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. Wulfers attended the ISCD's bone density course and passed an exam on bone density testing for osteoporosis. He is a physician with Cape Girardeau Physician Associates.
Dr. Gregory Pursley has opened a chiropractic practice at 35 Doctors' Park in Cape Girardeau. He has assumed the practice of Dr. Kathy McCuan, who retired last year after 23 years in practice. Like McCuan, Pursley graduated from the Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.
Gary Luttress of A1 Air Duct Cleaners in Perryville, Mo., recently completed Rotobrush International's air duct cleaning course in Dallas.
Eugene W. Cox of Kelso, Mo., was recently honored with a pin and certificate commemorating his 60 years of membership in the Carpenters Local Union.
Lia Sophia, a company that offers fashion jewelry through personalized in-home demonstrations, has recognized Dana Grindstaff of Jackson as an Excellent Beginnings Program Achiever for outstanding sales accomplishments.
