Booker T. Long of Marston, Missouri, has retired after 16 years at Associated Electric Cooperative's New Madrid power plant. Long began his career at the plant as a general utility worker. He worked in the bunker room, advanced to an auxiliary operator position, then moved into the coal yard, using bulldozers and front-end loaders to move coal. "I have really loved working here," Long said. "The work itself is what I loved best."
