Group names financial adviser of the year

D. Joseph McKeon of Cape Girardeau has been awarded the M Luther Hahs, CLU Insurance and Financial Advisor of the Year Award. The award was presented in May by the River Heritage Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, which is in Cape Girardeau, Perry and Ste. Genevieve counties. McKeon has been a financial representative for the Northwestern Mutual Financial Networks for 26 years. He is a member of the Cape Girardeau Rotary Club, Cape Girardeau and Perryville Chambers of Commerce, St. Louis Council Boy Scouts of America Board and Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation Board. Also receiving awards were Tammy Bohnert, National Quality Award for four years; Ted Coalter, NQA for six years and National Sales Achievement for five years; David L. Hahs, NQA and NSAA for 32 years; T. Ronald Hahs, NQA for 31 years and NSAA for 38 years; Patricia Manion, NSAA for two years; McKeon, NQA for 24 years; and Kendra R. Troncale, NQA for one year.

Cape employee chosen as regional winner

Virginia Rahkopf was one of 14 regional winners chosen by the Missouri Senior Employment Coordination Committee, a statewide committee that promotes the hiring of older workers and consists of members from organizations around the state and provides training and employment services to older workers. Rahkopf is the winner for the Southeast Region, which consists of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Iron, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Scott, Stoddard, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve counties. She's been employed by Southeast Missouri Builders Supply in Cape Girardeau for more than 15 years. She sees to it that the merchandise is available for the salesclerks to put on the shelves.
