Meyer attends Realtors meeting in Washington

Thomas M. Meyer of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co. recently attended the National Association of Realtors' meeting in Washington, D.C., as this year's NAR regional vice president.

Realtor issues in government regulations and legislation concerning private property rights, virtual property marketing, and international property agreements were some of the items discussed.

The National Association of Realtors has more than 800,000 members, which is a professional association adhering to a strict code of ethics. Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co. has been in business since 1946, with both Thomas L. and Thomas M. Meyer as past state presidents.

McClanahan becomes member in honor society

Jan McClanahan has received 2001 membership in the Missouri Association of Realtors Honor Society at the Cape Girardeau Board of Realtors monthly meeting. The award was given for outstanding achievement in real estate throughout the year of 2001.

Former SEMO president named manager of year

Former Southeast Missouri State University president Bill Stacy, now chancellor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, has been named the Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year.

The award is the largest local awards program in the nation. In conjunction with Management Week in America, it is presented annually to an executive whose management skills have profoundly influenced the outstanding performance of a key element of American business, industry, governmental or non-profit activity.

Stacy was president of Southeast in the 1980s.

Under Stacy's leadership at UTC, the university will experience the largest facilities growth in the history of the institution, in excess of $180 million.
