Regions Bank names mortgage loan supervisor
Regions Bank has named Mary Smith mortgage loan production supervisor for the bank's 16 offices in Southeast Missouri. Her office is at 407 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Smith joined Regions Bank in 1988 and has most recently held the position of branch sales manager for the office at 2210 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson. Previous to that, she spent eight years as a mortgage originator, specializing in government lending programs. Smith, a native of Cape Girardeau, is a graduate of Columbia College and the MBA School of Lending. She is a member of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.

AAA agents receive Gold Seal award
Janice Weinhold and Jim Burke, both sales agents in the Cape Girardeau office, have each received AAA's Auto and Home Gold Seal Award for 2005. Recognized for their standards of performance in property and casualty insurance services, Weinhold and Burke also had to meet goals in auto insurance sales, loss ratios and policyholder services. As Gold Seal agents, Weinhold and Burke are afforded greater underwriting and binding authority. Weinhold has been an AAA sales agent since 1993. Burke has been with AAA since 1986.
Modern Woodmen name rookie of the month
Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a district representative with Modern Woodmen of America, was named rookie of the month in the Missouri East Agency for the month of March. The honor is given to a full-time representative who has been with Modern Woodmen of America for less than three years and is leading the agency in production. Volkerding joined the company's Rainwater Agency in Farmington, Mo., in November.
Local agents attend state insurance conference
Local independent insurance agents Laura Green, Ben Towe and Barbara Burnett of the First National Insurance Agency of Sikeston, Mo., attended the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents' 15th annual Small Agency Conference, from March 31 to April 1 in Columbia, Mo. More than 450 agents, brokers and representatives attended the conference, which is designed for small to medium-sized agencies from rural and metropolitan areas.
