Anna Galeski, senior planning analyst at SoutheastHEALTH, has worked for the hospital system a little more than five years.
In that time, she's been able to put her Type-A, detail-oriented personality at the forefront of her daily endeavors, and is proud that she began her job right after earning her master's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Her undergraduate degree is in marketing.
"I'm a pretty analytical, detail-oriented person … but I also work in the community … and the people I work with are wonderful, too, so that makes it good," she says.
Not only does Galeski serve on the local Healthy Communities Coalition, but as part of it, she volunteers for Storybook Trail at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
On the trail, kids or their caregivers can read aloud as they walk along and pick up more pages. The trail is an excuse to exercise, as well as a way to help kids prepare for school.
On the personal side, Galeski says one of her greatest accomplishments in life is her daughter Libby, who will turn 2 on Sept. 1.
In her off time, Galeski enjoys being with her family, whether it's at home or on the road. One of her passions, besides being naturally organized, is decorating. She says she also loves horseback riding and camping.
Her big dream is to build a house out in the country, complete with brothers and sisters for Libby and plenty of land and animals.
Galeski's personal motto is derived from the biblical Book of Jeremiah (29:11): "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
