TNT Dugan, a subsidiary of TNT Freightways Corp., is expanding its operation in Cape Girardeau.
The new, 18-door, facility, at 4178 Route K, will replace the company's previous five-door terminal in the Nash Road Industrial Park area which has been in use since 1993.
"We will be open in the new quarters Nov. 13," said Tom Layman, terminal manager.
"The additional doors were needed to keep pace with the rapid growth of the business in the Cape Girardeau area," said Charles Eggleton, president and chief operating officer of the Wichita, Kan., company.
Layman remains as terminal manager of the new facility, and Doug Scheper remains account manager. A total of 19 other employees will continue in their positions at the new location.
A new sales representative is expected to be added to assist Scheper, said Ken Ball, a spokesman of TNT Freightways.
The TNT Dugan territory at Cape Girardeau has a radius of 100 miles and includes part of five states, said Eggleton.
TNT Dugan provides overnight and second day service throughout its network of locations in the Central, South and Southeastern United States.
TNT Freightways operates a group of regional less-than-truckload, general commodities motor carriers throughout the United States and Canada. The company's truckload subsidiary, Comet Transport, provides long-haul, sleeper-team service between major markets in the United States.
