Barnes & Noble Inc., the nation's largest bookseller, opened in Cape Girardeau last week.
The new, 22,000-square-foot bookstore on the perimeter of the West Park Mall at 3035 William opened Friday.
The store is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. It features a cafe that serves coffee, espresso, sodas, pastries and other dessert items.
Russ Middleton, who has been with the company about a year, is general manager. He previously worked at Barnes & Noble in the St. Louis area.
A grand opening will be held at the store soon.
Barnes & Noble operates more than 260 superstore operations under the name of Barnes & Noble, Bookstop and Bookstar. It also has 700 mall stores under the names of B. Dalton Bookseller, Doubleday Book Shops and Scribners Bookstores.
