Physical Therapy Associates, 60 Doctors' Park, has become a part of Southeast Missouri Hospital's Rehabilitation Services.
The facility will remain as an outpatient facility, said James W. Wente, Southeast administrator, in making the announcement recently.
Three therapists, Frankie Erlacker, Brenda Nicolai and Joan Stehr, all of Physical Therapy Associates, will share responsibilities as directors for Southeast's scope of rehabilitation services, which include acute care services at the hospital, outpatient services and the Pediatric SPOT, where speech, physical and occupational therapy services are provided for children.
Also joining the Southeast Rehab Services team are Physical Therapy Associates staff members Rosie Gottlieb, John Guidarelli and Allison Keith.
"Physical Therapy Associates is an important addition to rehabilitation services at Southeast," said Wente. "We are delighted to welcome them to the hospital family. This affiliation is a positive development for the continued growth and expansion of Southeast's rehabilitative care."
The new affiliation "will bring additional strength to our PT team," said Karen Hendrickson, assistant hospital administrator and chief nursing officer. "These are experienced therapists, known and respected in their profession and in their community."
Stehr has a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She received an outstanding services award for patient care in 1990 from the Missouri Physical Therapy Association.
Nocolai has a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and a master's degree in health science from the University of Missouri.
Erlacker is also a graduate of University of Missouri, with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and a master's degree in health science.
