Parmida is a subsidiary of ShopKo Stores, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, headquartered in Green Bay, Wis.. ShopKo operates 333 retail stores in 22 states, including Westfield Shopping Center in Cape Girardeau.

Pamida operations, headquartered in Omaha, Neb., has 171 discount stores located in rural communities.

The New Madrid store is expected to open in the spring of 2001.
