Old is suddenly back "in" in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Cooper's Collectables and Antiques has opted for the downtown area.
"Downtown was big for antiques and collectibles during the early 1990s," said Wanda Cooper, who recently opened at 221 Independence. "There were two or three antique operations here. Now they're back."
Cooper, who established Cooper's Collectables and Antiques at 315 S. Sprigg in 1989, eventually moved her shop to 225 N. Sprigg, before moving downtown last week.
Cooper's is the second antique operation to settle for a downtown site in November. Madder Rose Antique Mall opened at 1 N. Main in on Nov. 1, with more than 60 booths and 30 glass showcases.
Both shops include furniture, glass, jewelry, paper Americana, military, toys and other collectibles.
Cooper is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 Sunday.
