A procurement conference, designed to offer insight into securing government contracts, will be held in Robert A. Dempster Hall on Southeast Missouri State University campus Aug. 8.
Eighth District U. S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson and U.S. Sen. Christopher "Kit" Bond are sponsoring the one-day event in cooperation with the university's Small Business Development Center, the Small Business Administration, the Missouri Small Business Development Centers and Missouri Procurement Assistance Centers.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $25 per person and includes lunch. More information and registration is available by calling the SBDC at (573) 986-6084 or faxing (573) 986-6083.
The conference is open to business owners and all other interested individuals. Sessions will include topics on how to develop a winning proposal; how to do business with federal, state and local governments; doing business with the government on the Internet; and prime contracting and subcontracting opportunities for small business and more, said Buz Sutherland, director of the Small Business Development Center.
