The financial services firm of Edward D. Jones & Co. will present seminars in Cape Girardeau Thursday to discuss investors' questions concerning the AT&T break-up news.

Seminars will be held at the office of Joe and Donna Domian, 1749 Independence and at the office of Bob Etherton, 215 N. Sprigg St. The seminar will be broadcast live over Jones' private satellite network to more than 3,100 branch offices.

David Otto, Jones' telecommunications analyst, who has been following the development of AT&T since the announcement was made, will discuss the happenings. The program will be interactive, giving viewers an opportunity to present questions to Otto.

"At a time when many companies are merging to become bigger, AT&T's effort to become smaller through this restructuring signals a major change in corporate strategy," said Domian. "We're pleased to be able to respond to investors' questions with this informative program.

AT&T's proposed restructuring calls for the telecommunications giant to split into three public companies, whose stock will be distributed to AT&T shareholders.

A fourth company, AT&T Capital Corp. will be sold outright, and 8,500 jobs will be cut at AT&T's ailing computer subsidiary, Global Information Solutions.
