The Holiday Inn at Cape Girardeau and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel at Paducah, Ky. have won Bass Hotels and Resorts 2000 Torchbearer awards.

The two operations, owned and operated by Midamerica Hotels Corporation, headquartered in Cape Girardeau, were among properties selected from the more than 3,000 Holiday Inn hotels for maintaining high standards of excellence in product quality hotel operations, guest services and profitability.

The hotels were honored during special ceremony held at the annual Bass Hotels and Resorts Global Investors Conference in Las Vegas.

Dan and Karla Drury of Cape Girardeau accepted the award for the Holiday Inn at Cape Girardeau. Dan Drury is an officer for Midamerica Hotels Corp., which owns four hotels and 37 Burger King restaurants in a four-state area.
