Workforce Investment Board holds open house
The Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri will hold an open house for its new offices from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at 760 S. Kingshighway, Suite C. The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting at 1:30 p.m. The WIB moved from offices in the Marquette Tower in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Research Corp. planning economic workshop
The Missouri Research Corp. is organizing an economic development workshop that will be held May 30 at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau. The all-day event will present an overview of the economic development process in a series of 35- to 45-minute presentations. The workshop is sponsored by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and is presented by the Southeast Missouri State University Center for Business and Economic Research, the Southeast Missouri Economic Development Alliance and two area regional planning commissions. The workshop costs $5 and is designed to help city, county and state officials as well as members of local economic development boards and volunteers.
