Stereo One wins USACI world championship
Stereo One returned home from the U.S. Audiosound Competition International World Finals with a world championship trophy for the third time in five years. The car sound system was designed, engineered and installed by Stereo One Car Audio Division. The 2004 Honda Civic took home three major awards including Best of Show -- Consumer, first place in the Advanced Consumer 601 Watt+ Class and second place in the Consumer Sound Quality Class. Local Stereo One installation team members were led by Kevin Brown of Cape Girardeau, with assistance from former world champion Greg Vaughn of Jackson, who provided design concepts and final system tuning. Also on the technical team were Danny McMillan of Scott City, Joe Niswonger of Old Appleton, Vernon Hunter of Anna, Ill., and Cody Cook of Oak Ridge.
Synergy holding opportunity meeting
Synergy Worldwide will hold a business opportunity meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Synergy business training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Buffalo Wild Wings to open in Sikeston
Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar will open its newest location at 11 a.m. Sunday in Sikeston, Mo. This will be the first Buffalo Wild Wings to open in Sikeston and the 16th location in Missouri. The restaurant is at 231 N. Main St. in The Shoppes at Lake Crossing.
Ice company to expand distribution, service area
Baker's Ice Co. of Pacific, Mo., has recently purchased the rights of distribution of packaged ice for Cape Girardeau and Perry counties from Fischer Ice Co. of St. Genevieve, Mo. The family-owned company is looking forward to expanding their delivery and service into the area, according to Tim Baker, president of Baker's Ice Co.
Sikeston warehouse property sold
One of the larger warehouse properties in Sikeston, Mo., has been sold, according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place Ltd. who handled the recent sale. Ivan Griffin, owner of Pine Tree Trucking from Advance, Mo., is the purchaser of the 50,000-square-foot building at 835 Wakefield Ave. The building will be used by the trucking company for customer warehousing.
New Cape airport restaurant now open
The Cape Girardeau Regional Airport has opened a new restaurant called The Drop Zone. The Drop Zone, which officially opened its doors Jan. 2, will be open for a Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner with hopes of opening a full bar sometime in the near future. Restaurant hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
