Whether it's technical support, networking, computer hardware and software or payroll and time services, CPU Inc. offers the latest technology available to their clients.

But technology is only good for their clients if it helps them operate their business more efficiently and profitably, which is what keeps CPU's client list growing after 32 years in business.

For example, in the area of time and attendance services, CPU offers two new products that make punching time cards with a clock obsolete.

One system reads employee fingerprints when they report for work, preventing fraud and productivity loss by preventing employees from "clocking in" for another who is late. Another uses a time clock that lets workers clock in by swiping a magnetic card.

"The old time clocks simply created a time card. Someone in the office still had to take that card and enter all the information into the payroll system," said Mike Unverferth, director of sales and marketing. "The new systems not only eliminate fraud but save office time and eliminate calculation errors by sending the time information directly into the payroll system."

New offerings in the past year for CPU's technical support division include server virtualization, off-site server replication and high performance network attached storage and storage area networks.

CPU is located at 320 S. Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau.
