Bill Evans and David Jernigan have received promotions from NewsChannel 6 (WPSD-TV).
Evans, who has been serving as news director, has been named vice president of news and operations. He will oversee the news, engineering and operations departments at the station.
A native of Arkansas, Evans has worked in the industry at stations in Tulsa, St. Lolls, Nashville and Cedar Rapids. He joined WPSD-TV at Paducah, Ky. in 1997.
Jernigan, who has served as general sales manager, has been named vice president of sales and programming. A native of Alabama, Jernigan has worked in various management capacities in Cape Girardeau, in Washington, D.C., North Carolina, Panama City, Fla., and Greenville, Miss.
Richard Paxton will continue as president and general manager of the station. He also serves as chief financial officer of WPSD's parent company, Paxton Media Group, Inc.
