BUSINESS PERSONNEL: SOUTHWESTERN BELL CHANGES

Donna Burk of Cape Girardeau, a 26-year veteran of Southwestern Bell Telephone, has been appointed regional director-external affairs for Southeast Missouri, a new position.

Burk will maintain her responsibilities as director of external affairs for the Cape Girardeau area and assumes additional geographic responsibilities for Poplar Bluff and the surrounding area that was managed by Greg Kubik.

Kubik has accepted a position as manager of engineering design for the company's network operations team in Cape Girardeau.

Burk, who will be based at her Cape Girardeau office, will include managing regulator, government and community affairs, monitoring local legislation and municipality ordinances and overseeing philanthropic and membership activities for Southwestern Bell throughout Southeast Missouri.

In his new position, Kubik, a 20-year veteran with Southwestern Bell, will be responsible for managing copper and fiber optic communications facilities throughout Southwestern Bell's network -- from switching office mainframes to customer premises.
