The Southeast Missouri Hospital Marketing and Communications Department was recently recognized for excellence at the annual Missouri Hospital Association Convention in Osage Beach.
Two entries receiving top awards were for projects in partnership with West Park Mall.
A first place "Show Me Excellence Award" was presented for print advertising for a newspaper ad created by Maggie Friend of the hospital staff and Scott Anderson of the Southeast Missourian's ad support department. The full-color ad, "In the Spirit of Service" ran in the Missourian's annual Progress Edition earlier this year.
A first place was also awarded in a new category, "Community Partnerships," for "Kids Bee Fit," an in-mall wellness program for children created by Friend and Debbie Leoni of the hospital staff in conjunction with West Park Mall, community sponsor for the activity.
Second place in the competition was awarded to Friend and Nancy Bray for a seven-minute "Symphony of Service" volunteer recruitment video starring the hospital's volunteers.
"At the Heart of a Healthier Community," a full-color annual report written by Sally Owen of the hospital staff and printed by Concord Printing of Cape Girardeau took third place honors in the publications category.
"InforMed," an employee newsletter designed and written by Renee Bowerman of the hospital staff, received a third-place honor in the internal publications category.
