Carl Kirchdoerfer of Kirchdoerfer Jersey Farm in Cape Girardeau County, has been honored as an "Outstanding Missouri Farmer."

Kirchdoerfer is one of three farmers honored by the Missouri Jaycees at the Outstanding Young Farmer Banquet, held recently at Joplin.

Other honorees include Doug Roth of East Lynn and Todd Hayes of Monroe City.

Kirchdoerfer, nominated by the Cape Girardeau Jaycee Chapter, has been farming 13 years. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in animal science.

In 1993, Kirchdoerfer installed a computer-operated feed system that allows the family Jersey cow farm to expand the herd size to more than 100 head.

He is a member of the Missouri Jersey Association and the American Jersey Cattle Association.
