Gloria Miller of Cape Girardeau has been certified as a registered play therapist-supervisor by the Association For Play Therapy.
The certification required five years post-master's clinical experience, a minimum of 1,500 hours of play therapy, and 150 hours of direct instruction therapy.
Play therapy is used with children ages 3 to 12 and involves the use of play in assessment and treatment of a variety of situations, including abuse, adjustment difficulties, divorce and behavioral problems.
Miller is a licensed professional counselor in private practice with Associated Counseling, 1221 N. Kingshighway. She works with children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens.
Miller has also been certified as a national certified psychologist through the National Association of Master's in Psychology.
