BUSINESS PERSONNEL: JOINS VISITING NURSE UNIT

Karen Sisk, a registered nurse from Sikeston, recently joined the staff of the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri. She will provide health care to patients in their own homes throughout Mississippi, Scott, Stoddard, Butler and part of New Madrid counties.

As a visiting nurse, Sisk maintains close contact with her patients' doctors so as to keep the doctor informed of problems.

She visits newly diagnosed patients to teach them about their disease process and the new treatment prescribed by their physician. She assesses their response to the treatment and discusses needed changes in that plan of care with them and their physician.
