David Plassman and Debra K. Johns have completed extra education courses.
Plassman, a CPA and accounting supervisor for Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants, of Cape Girardeau, has completed Employee Benefits and Compensation training toward a Certificate of Educational Achievement Awards. He enhanced his knowledge in pension and welfare plans and learned to recognize key income tax issues relating to funding and benefit payments. The course highlighted taxation of contributions, investment options and benefit payments.
Johns completed the Corporate and Business Tax Course sponsored by the Missouri Society of CPAs. The course provided information on tax law changes effecting C & S corporations. The course also covered limited liability company issues.
Johns has been an accountant since 1981, and specializes in audits and reviews of nursing homes, retail, government and not-for-profit organizations. Part of her responsibility is at the satellite office in Marble Hill.
Schott & Van de Ven is located at 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D. in Cape Girardeau. T firm also has an office in Marion.
