David M. Plasman, Holly Thomas and Timothy J. Schwent, CPAs with School & Van de Venn Certified Public Accountants, recently attended a continuing education class in federal taxation. Lonnie Lusk, a CPA and Certified Accounting Application Specialist who has been in public accounting since 1991, completed a week-long software training workshop, sponsored by Cougar Mountain Software, at Boise, Idaho.
The continuing education class focused on current federal tax development and recent changes in the Internal Revenue Code. Plasman, accounting supervisor at Van de Ven since 1995, has more than 14 years experience as a CPA. Thomas became a CPA in 1984 and specializes in tax and estate planning and not-for-profit organizations. Schwent, a CPA since 1972, specializes in tax planning and advisory services.
Van de Ven, headquartered at 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D, has satellite offices in Marble Hill and Marion, Ill.
