Six Cape Girardeau city employees recently attended a National Electric Code (NEC) seminar.
Cape Girardeau City Inspection Services Director Tarryl Booker, Mike Conrad, Rob Roberts, John Creutz and Steve Higgerson, all of inspection services, and Mike Halter, from the city's Parks and Recreation Department, attended the workshop, held at the Osage Community Centre.
Changes to the 1999 National Electric Code were discussed.
The NEC is updated every three years. Sometimes, changes occur that will increase costs to contractors and homeowners.
"It is important that the city's inspection services department review the new codes," said Booker.
