David R. Rosener, formerly of Lowes & Drusch, has opened his own law firm.
The Rosener Law Firm, L.C., opened Wednesday at 1 N. Spanish St. in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Rosener of Farmington came to Cape Girardeau in May 1993, joining the Lowes & Drusch firm.
He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law at Columbia and has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in social science from the University of Chicago.
He served as a law clerk in the law offices of Patrick A. Tuite in Chicago; litigation clerk at Greenberger, Krauss & Jacobs in Chicago and served as an intern with the Federal Defender Program for the Northern District of Illinois.
He has worked in all aspects of criminal and civil litigation, with about 80 percent of his work involved in criminal cases.
Glen H. Beussink has been named executive director of Health Data Services Inc., 81 Doctors' Park in Cape Girardeau.
Beussink has extensive background in business development. He joined Health Data Services after working with Mid America Distributing for 12 years. As vice president of Mid America, he developed a seven-state market.
Health Data Services represents ancillary providers of home care products in the region, with a goal of pulling together the region's ancillary providers and marketing their talents under a "One Stop Shop" philosophy.
Dr. John Koch, a small animal veterinarian and owner of the Cape Small Animal Clinic in Cape Girardeau, has been named the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association's "Veterinarian of the Year" for 1995.
Koch received the award during the VMA's annual meeting last month at Osage Beach. Koch, who received his veterinary degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary, established Cape Small Animal Clinic in 1974, after work in general practice as an associate of Dr. E. L. Snider in Cape Girardeau County four years.
He is a member of the Missouri and American Veterinary Medical associations, the Southeast Missouri veterinary association, the Cape Girardeau Area veterinary association and Missouri Academy of Veterinary practice. He is chairman of the MVMA Peer Review Committee, and serves as a member of the MVMA Foundation Board of Directors. He is author of "Ask the Vet," a weekly newspaper series.
Koch served as president of the Missouri Academy of Veterinary Practice in 1994; MVMA president in 1990 and has served on numerous association committees.
Koch also operates a 30-acre Christmas tree farm.
Dr. Nelson L. Stone, a retired veterinarian from Jackson, has been re-elected secretary-treasurer of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.
Stone, a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, operated a general practice until he retired last April.
Stone is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the Society of Theriogenology and Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.
He has served as MVMA secretary-treasurer for the past six years.
Stephen M. Blaes has been appointed president and chief executive officer of North American Health Alliance, a new organization affiliated with Health Services Corporation of America, headquartered in Cape Girardeau.
The new organization is dedicated to providing management and contracting services to HSCA, one of the nation's largest health care group purchasing organizations.
Earl H. Norman, chief executive of HSCA, announced Blaes' appointment recently.
Blaes previously served as president and chief executive offices of the CSJ Health System in Wichita, Kan.
Tammy Silvey and Erma Harman have joined the Commercial Real Estate Specialists Inc. residential sales team.
Silvey joined Commercial Real Estate four years ago, as secretary. She recently completed real estate school at Professional Real Estate in St. Louis.
Harman, a graduate of Cape Central High School, recently returned to the Cape Girardeau area from Atlanta, where she was involved in restaurant management the past six years. She is also a graduate of the Professional Real Estate School.
Jay Knudtson has been promoted to vice president at Boatmen's Bank of Cape Girardeau.
Knudtson's promotion is one of two announced at the bank recently. Monica C. Fluegge has been promoted to assistant vice president of the real estate lending department.
Knudtson of Cape Girardeau serves as real estate lending officer at Boatmen's main Cape Girardeau facility, 2001 William St. He has lending responsibility in all areas of commercial and residential finance.
Knudtson, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, has also completed the Graduate School of Real Estate Finance in Dallas. He joined Boatmen's in 1990. Prior to joining Boatmen's, Knudtson worked at Fleet Mortgage Corp. and from 1986 to 1988, he worked as a professional hockey referee.
Fluegge of Jackson, who served the bank as real estate loan operations at the William Street bank, joined Boatmen's in 1991. Prior to joining Boatmen's, she worked more than six years as real estate loan officer at Capital Bank.
Cheryl A. Mothes, a registered nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, has been admitted to associate status in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Associate status is the first level of professional achievement in the health care society, an international professional group representing more than 28,000 health care executives.
Associate status provides the opportunity to be reappointed as associate or to advance to diplomat status.
Two Southeast Missourians head up the 1995 Missouri Association of Realtors management team.
Thomas M. Meyer, president of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co. in Cape Girardeau, is president of the statewide organization, and Fred H. Neal, broker-realtor of Merideth & Neal Real Estate in Sikeston, is vice president.
Other state officers include Fred Kratky, president-elect, and Duane Gerken, treasurer.
Neal, who lives near Oran, received his real estate license in 1976 and his broker's license in 1978. He is a graduate of the Missouri Real Estate Institute and a certified residential specialist.
Neal was named MAR Realtor-Associate of the Year in 1981. He has served as state director for more than 15 years, and was MAR treasurer in 1994.
Charles "Bud" Leming is new president of the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.
New officers also include Schirley Huey, president-elect; Dorothy Miller, treasurer; Jeff Jackson, secretary.

J. Charles Stotz, executive director of the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation, has written an article appearing in "Perspective," the journal for the Association of Professional Directors of YMCAs.
The articles offers insight on how to keep volunteers productively involved in community service organizations.
Before joining the Southeast Missouri Hospital staff, Stotz was involved with capital campaign leadership for a San Francisco development firm. He has also served as executive director of a YMCA.
Jean Pender of Scott City has been named "Employee of the Year" at Commerce Bank of Southeast Missouri.
Pender joined Commerce Bank in 1992 in the financial services department.
She received her award from Cord Polen, president of the Bank, 160 S., Broadview in Cape Girardeau.
Two promotions were announced recently at Commerce Bank.
Laura J. Sparkman has been promoted to assistant vice president. She joined the bank in 1992 as a loan processor. She was promoted to real estate loan officer in 1993.
Laurel E. Adkisson has been promoted to financial services officer at the bank. She joined Commerce Bank in August 1992 as a senior financial services representative.
