Summer Myers has joined Mane Attractions LTD, 431 W. Main, Jackson.

Myers of Oak Ridge is a graduate of Stage One The Hair School at Cape Girardeau.

She previously worked at the Jackson Family Clinic and Young Thriftway Drugs in Jackson.

Linda Lawrence of Jackson has been named cardiac rehabilitation clinical nurse specialist at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

In her new position, she will be responsible for development and coordination of the St. Francis Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and will serve as a consultant to Mended Hearts Chapter 261.

Lawrence, a member of the nursing staff at St. Francis since 1988, has a master's degree in cardiovascular nursing from St. Louis University. She also has a physical fitness specialist certification from the Institute for Aerobic Research in Dallas. She is a member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Kevin Casey and Carol Robert have joined 100.7 KGMO Radio.

Casey, a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in broadcasting, has more than 14 years on-air duty and will be on the air at KGMO from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Robert of Cape Girardeau has joined the KGMO sales team. She previously worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at Perryville.

Rodney Phegley has joined the Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co. sales staff.

Phegley, a Chaffee native, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a business degree.

He previously worked with Duncan Williams Investments in Memphis, Tenn., and more recently with Phegley Shooters Supply. He is active in the operation of Phegley Farms.

Phegley is associated with the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors, the Missouri Association and the National Association of Realtors. He is also a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.

David L. Hahs, a Cape Girardeau area insurance agent, has been honored for sales excellence.

Hahs received the "Emerald Class" award, for record sales of more than $7 million for the year. He received the award during the 116th annual meeting of agents of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., held at Milwaukee.

Hahs is associated with Northwestern's T. Ronald Hahs District Agency, Cape Girardeau, of the Edward T. Hemstead General Agency in St. Louis.

Northwestern is the nation's sixth largest life insurer with assets of more than $57 million.

Doug Friese, manager of the Universal Health & Fitness Center in Cape Girardeau, was in Atlanta during the first weekend of the Centennial Olympic Games to inspect the Olympic Villa Health Club.

CardioTheater provided staff and equipment for the first-ever Olympic Village Health Club, using the same equipment that will be installed at Universal later this summer, said Friese.

CardioTheater is a multi-media workout system that allows people to watch their favorite television programs or listen to individually programmed music while they exercise.

In addition to the CardioTheater system, Friese said other new equipment to be installed at Universal includes the Star Trac system of treadmills, step machines, exercise bicycles and recumbent bikes.

Universal Health & Fitness was recently purchased by St. Francis Medical Center.

Dr. J. Stephen Whitten of Cape Girardeau has received the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.

It was awarded for accumulating 150 hours of current medical education credit.

He operates an OB/GYN practice at 55 Doctors Park.

Whitten has been practicing 21 years in Cape Girardeau.

Dr. Keith A. Russell has been honored as "Faculty of the Year" for 1998-96 by the Accounting and Finance Club/IMA Student Chapter at Southeast Missouri State University.

Russell, one of three faculty members nominated for the honor, was selected by student votes.
